If there are only two companies in the USA that produce the transducers we
all use
and we all use the exact same acrylic processes (we all purchase acrylic
from the same company)
and we all make molds the same way (we have been doing it for 25+
years...longer then anyone!)
The
Question should be:
HOW CAN
THEY CHARGE SO MUCH!
There is no doubt that we are better.

MONITOR FAQ'S
GENERAL
Monitors are a pair and are in Stereo and come with a case
Names are imprinted in red & blue inside the shell to distinguish from left
and right
We can upgrade monitors at anytime (i.e. upgrade dual to triple's etc...)
The price you see is the actual price (the only other cost you pay is the
return shipping of the impressions to Alien Ears)
Alien Ears is a full service lab and repair all manufacturers "custom"
monitors
Optional logo's are lasered onto the faceplate of the monitors must be a
medium resolution JPEG with no shadows (true lineart type)
CORDS
Detachable cords remove from the shell (for a quick change) Fixed cords must
be returned to us for repair
Detachable cord & Fixed cord monitors are identical other then the cord
being removable and fixed
Detachable Cords do not come out of the shell easily...you have to wiggle
them to get them out!
Both Fixed & Detachable cords are very solid in the monitor shell
AMBIENTS
(only available on single & dual driver monitors)
Ambients are tubes that go from the outside shell of the monitor down into
the canal so you can hear ambient or room sound!
AMBIENT POSITIVES+:
You are able to hear your instrument, the band, congregations, and people
whispering in your ear
Ambients come with 4 plugs that shape how much sound comes into the ambient
tube (one is a full plug that returns the monitor to full isolation)
Sound great and remove the need for wedges!
AMBIENT NEGATIVES -:
The more you leave the ambient hole open the less low end you have
When inserting the ambient feature one tube is used for the ambient and the
low and mid/high drivers must
be combined into one tube. Clarity wise the ambients have less clarity then
our normal isolation monitors
HOW TO GET AMBIENT SOUND with a FULL ISOLATION MONITOR
(no ambients):
Run a PZM or shotgun mic and mix it into your in ear system this way you have
full control over how much live ambient sound you get..
simple yet effective!
DRIVERS DIFFERENCE
The difference between Single, Dual, Triple & Quad Drivers (or speakers) -
Think of it like: this:
Single Drivers - a one way PA system with a single cabinet producing all the
frequencies
Dual Drivers - A PA with a 18” Bass Cabinet and a separate mid/high box (15”
& Horn) and a two way crossover
Triple w 2 low end - (C3 & AE3) a P.A. with Two 18” Bass cabinets and a mid
high box (15” & Horn) and a two way crossover
Triple Driver Full Range (FRC3 & FRAE3) a P.A. with one 18” bass cabinet,
one 12” mid range cabinet and a 2” horn (with three way crossover)
Quad driver- a P.A. with two 18” ported bass cabinets with a special inline
expander, a 12” mid and a high powered horn (best clarity and low end!)
